Advanced musical ability in the programme subject which must be demonstrated in the audition exam
Foreign applicants who do not have a German university entry permission must possess sufficient knowledge of the German language. The following requirements must both be met in order to provide proof:
Presentation of a language certificate of level B 2.2 according to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The Language certificates must be submitted during enrolment at the latest.
In the music theory examination, applicants must prove that they have sufficient programme-related German language skills for communication and study.
On muvac you can upload video and audio recordings in the course of your application at the HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin.
Based on the uploades audio/video recordings the pre-selection is made subsequent to the application period.
Requirements Recordings
A video recording of 15 minutes with the highest possible recording quality. The recording does not have to be taken in one take, single recordings are permitted.
Optionally, 1-2 videos with chamber music or solo can be added, if available.
No cuts may be made within a movement/piece.
The videos must not be older than one year and may contain works from the prepared examination program.
Requirements Repertoire
15 minutes free choice of work with a presentation as varied as possible. It is also possible to play only parts from different works.
Audition Programme
Free choice of works, including 1 work from the baroque period, 1 classical work (for example Hoffmeister Etudes, concertos by Stamitz, Hoffmeister, Zelter or pieces by Hummel) and 1 other style
sight-reading
RKM-recognized German music school and are applying to transfer to HFM are exempt from taking the exams in piano, composition, and ear training if they are able to provide a matriculation certificate/certificate of enrolment.

Participation in Junior Scholars ends at the age of 18, unless he or she has not completed their schooling. If this is the case, participation will end in the semester that he or she completes schooling.
